Pressure converters
Pressure is force per unit area. Bar, psi, kPa and atmospheres are not units of force. Choose an exact direction below, or open the universal converter for all compatible units.
Example pressure conversions
Start with a calculated reference value, then open the tool to enter your own measurement. Results marked ≈ are rounded for display.
- Bar to PSI1 bar ≈ 14.503773773 psi
- kPa to PSI1 kPa ≈ 0.145037738 psi
- kPa to atm1 kPa ≈ 0.009869233 atm
Understanding pressure
Pressure versus force
Pressure describes force over area. PSI, kPa, bar and standard atmosphere are pressure units, not mass or force units. When working with tires or instruments, distinguish gauge pressure from absolute pressure.
How to verify a conversion
A standard atmosphere is 101,325 pascals and one bar is 100,000 pascals by definition. A unit conversion does not determine whether the measurement is gauge or absolute.

Accurate calculations, no guesswork
Every converter uses consistent unit definitions and returns an interactive result you can verify. For multiple measurements, use the batch converter.
